Susan Fleming Hotard
Painting is my tool for interpreting
the life that our Almighty God has so wonderfully made. Whether it be portraiture, still life, or landscape; I try to record
my observations of the world in a realistic, but painterly way. Painting is a life-long journey and I’m certainly enjoying
the trip.
Susan Hotard studied under Miss
Mary Moffet and Doug Walton while attending LA Tech. She studied under Daniel Breaux, Auseklis Ozols, Dell Weller, and Carol
Peebles at the New Orleans Academy of Fine Arts.
Ms. Hotard has taught at Delgado
Community College; currently she teaches art classes at the Jewish Community Center: Metairie and Uptown campuses. She has
taught several 5-day and 3-day workshops for New Orleans area art guilds. American
Artist magazine featured a cover story on Susan Hotard’s artwork in an 8-page spread in the July/ August 2005 issue.
